In short: TouchStream Radio is a local-network controller and player. We do not sell your data, show ads, or require a TouchStream account. Most information stays on your phone. Network access is used to control speakers on your Wi‑Fi, play radio streams you choose, and (optionally) load station lists or artwork from the internet.
This policy describes the mobile apps published on the App Store and Google Play
(bundle ID com.bose.soundtouch_radio on both platforms). It applies together with our
Terms of Use.
Independent app
TouchStream Radio is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Bose Corporation or Sonos, Inc. Bose®, SoundTouch®, Sonos®, and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners, used only to describe compatibility. Bose Corporation and Sonos, Inc. are not responsible for this privacy policy.

|---|---|---|
| Personal info (name, email, address) | No | No account or sign-in in the app. |

| Financial info | No | Purchases (if any) are handled outside the app per Migvantar website terms. |
| Photos / videos / files | No | Station logos may load from URLs you or the catalog provide; they are not uploaded to us. |
| Audio | No (not sent to us) | Streams play on your phone or speakers; audio is not recorded or uploaded to Migvantar. |
| App activity / analytics | No | No advertising SDKs, analytics, or crash-reporting services are built into the app. |
| Device or other IDs | No | Not used for tracking or advertising. |
| Diagnostics (logs you copy) | Only if you send them | Debug logs stay on the device unless you manually share them with support. |
3. Information stored on your device
The app saves settings and content locally on your device (for example SharedPreferences on Android or on-device storage on iOS). This may include:
- Speaker IP addresses, names, and room labels you configure
- Radio stations, presets, sync offsets, and volume preferences
- Wi‑Fi location profiles (saved network names used to recall speaker lists)
- Theme and UI preferences, trial/license state, and similar app settings
- Optional custom URLs (e.g. preset helper server on your LAN, station catalog URL)
This data is used only to run the app on your device. It is not automatically transmitted to Migvantar. Uninstalling the app removes this local data from your device (subject to iOS/Android backup behaviour if you use system backup).
4. How the app uses the network
4.1 Your local network (LAN)
Core features communicate with devices on your home Wi‑Fi, including:
- Bose SoundTouch and compatible speakers (e.g. ports 8090 / 8091)
- Sonos speakers on your LAN (experimental control, port 1400)
- UPnP/DLNA discovery and control on your LAN
- An optional on-phone preset helper (HTTP on your phone’s LAN address, port 8765) so physical preset buttons can load stream descriptors while the app is available on Wi‑Fi
- An optional preset helper URL on a PC or NAS you configure
These connections stay within networks you control. Other people on the same LAN may technically see that your phone is offering the preset helper service when it is running.
4.2 Internet streams and third-party services
When you play a station, the app or your speakers may connect to stream URLs you select (for example Icecast, TuneIn-style paths, or files on your NAS). Those servers are operated by third parties; their privacy practices apply separately.
The app may also request content from the internet when you use related features, for example:
- Loading a station catalog from Migvantar’s website
(default:
migvantar.is) or a URL you set in Settings - Loading station artwork from URLs in the catalog or that you enter
- Play on this phone — the app streams audio directly to your device
Standard web/server logs (such as IP address and request time) may be recorded by those servers when a request is made. Migvantar does not use the catalog to build advertising profiles.
5. Platform permissions
5.1 Android
The app requests permissions only as needed for features you use. Main Android permissions include:
- Internet / network state — streams, catalog, and LAN communication
- Local network (Android 14+) — reach speakers at local IP addresses
- Wi‑Fi / multicast — discover speakers and UPnP devices on your LAN
- Location (while in use) and Nearby Wi‑Fi devices — required by Android for Wi‑Fi scanning and LAN access on many devices; not used to track where you go
- Notifications — optional media controls when playing on the phone
- Foreground service — keep preset helper or background playback running when enabled
- Wake lock — prevent sleep during phone playback (media apps)
You can deny or revoke permissions in Android Settings; some features may not work without them (for example discovery without Wi‑Fi permissions).
5.2 iOS
On iPhone and iPad, the app may request:
- Local network — discover and control speakers at local IP addresses on your Wi‑Fi
- Location (while using the app) — read the current Wi‑Fi name for saved location profiles; not used to track where you go
- Background audio — optional playback on this device when “play on phone” is enabled
LAN speaker control uses HTTP to devices you choose on your network (for example SoundTouch on port 8090). Cleartext HTTP is limited to local networking as permitted by iOS for home devices.
You can change permissions in iOS Settings → TouchStream Radio.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use in-app advertising or ad tracking SDKs.
- We do not require a TouchStream, Bose, or Sonos account for normal use.
- We do not intentionally collect children’s personal information; the app is not directed at children under 13.
7. Sharing and legal disclosure
We do not share your on-device settings with third parties except:
- When you direct the app to contact a third party (stream host, NAS, speaker, catalog host)
- When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
- If you manually send logs or feedback to Migvantar support
We do not use processors for behavioural advertising. Infrastructure providers (e.g. hosting for
migvantar.is) may process standard server logs for security and operation.
8. Retention and deletion
Data stored in the app remains on your device until you change or remove it, or uninstall the app.
If you contact us, we keep correspondence only as long as needed to respond and meet legal obligations.
To delete local app data: uninstall TouchStream Radio, or clear app data in Android Settings / remove the app on iOS.
9. Security
We design the app for local control. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for securing your Wi‑Fi, speaker configuration, and stream sources. Use the app only on networks and devices you trust.
10. International users
Migvantar is based in Iceland. If you use the app from other countries, your local privacy laws may grant additional rights. Internet requests to Migvantar’s website may be processed in Iceland or where our hosting is located.
11. Your rights
Depending on your location (including EEA/UK and Iceland), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data held about you. Because most data stays on your device, you can delete it directly as described above.
To exercise rights relating to data Migvantar holds (for example support email you sent us), contact us via migvantar.is. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or legal requirements change. The Effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy where permitted by law. Material changes may also be noted in the app or on our website.
